This is a massive learning curve and new procedures for everyone so please bear with us if service takes longer than usual.

The risks associated with Coronavirus have unfortunately led to some necessary adjustments in how we can operate in order to prioritise your safety while visiting.

Our adjustments follow extensive consultation with our health & safety advisor and employees and incorporate advice from the government and our suppliers.

It has been necessary to complete full risk assessments to comply with the government guidelines which must include a specific section on Covid-19. This has been successfully completed and signed off.

It has been a challenging and time consuming task for the Committee to implement these measures and they hope the approach which they have taken gives you the confidence to return to the Club.

Above all please just use common sense and adhere to the social distancing guidelines where possible. This is all completely new to us but we hope we have covered everything in these strange and unprecedented circumstances. Some may feel these measures are over the top but we have a duty of care to our Members and staff and we must follow the governments guidelines to be able to open and operate safely.

The Club (and patio) will be open to Members plus one guest and this will be reviewed as required.

About the Club

We are located in the center of Bearsted village, and are a private members club with approximately 900 members. Although we are a men only institution there are no restrictions on guest entry as we do not discriminate between male and female guests.

Guests are required to pay a fee of £1.00 and must be signed in by a fully paid member.

The history of the club goes back more than 100 years, and we have always been a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to our members. For information on the history of the club please click on the History page.

We are a freehouse so are not tied to any brewery and this allows us to have regular promotions, guest beers and offers. As you'd expect from a members club our prices are considerably lower than the neighbouring pubs and restaurants.

We are a very friendly and accommodating club, and have excellent facilities. The club also has the benefit of off road parking to the rear of the building.

If you are interested in joining applicaction forms will be available when membership is open.

We accept all major debit and credit cards and also offer a cash back service
